Navratri is a festival that holds immense significance in the Hindu culture. It is a celebration of the triumph of good over evil and the worship of the divine feminine energy. One such tradition is the Kalash Puja, which is performed during Navratri to invoke blessings from the goddess. The Jhulelal Mandir Vashi has become the first temple in the region to start the Kalash Puja during Navratri season. This move has not only made devotees ecstatic but has also created a buzz in the entire Navi Mumbai community.

On 05.10.2024, the temple hosted a Mata Ki Chowki. The temple premises were adorned with colorful lights, beautiful decorations, and a sense of devotion that filled the air. Mata Ki Chowki is a devotional event where the main focus is on singing praises and bhajans in the honor of Goddess Durga. It is believed that by organizing such an event, the blessings of the Goddess are showered upon all those who participate and attend it. The main aim of Jhulelal Mandir has always been to spread blessings for everyone.
The event started with lighting Jyot (Lamp) followed by bhajans (devotional songs) dedicated to Maa Durga. The entire temple was lit up with Kalash and diyas, making it a sight to behold. The melodious voices of the singers and the rhythmic beats of the dhol added to the festive atmosphere. People from all age groups were seen engrossed in the devotional songs, dancing and singing along with full enthusiasm.
One could feel a sense of unity and oneness among the devotees, who had left aside their daily worries and gathered to celebrate the divine energy of Goddess Durga. The aroma of incense sticks, flowers, and prasad filled every corner of the temple, creating an atmosphere of divinity and spirituality. The traditional folk dance of Jhulelal, known as Jhulelal Jhulana, was performed by a group of young girls, ladies and gents adding a traditional touch to the celebration. People were seen participating in the dance with great fervor, as it is believed to bring happiness, prosperity, and good health.
As the night drew to an end, the devotees were treated to a sumptuous Bhandara Prasad and kheer. The event concluded with a grand aarti of Maa Durga, as people stood with folded hands and prayed for her blessings. The Mata Ki Chowki held at Jhulelal Mandir in Vashi was not just a celebration but an expression of devotion and unity. It brought people from different walks of life together, breaking all barriers of caste, creed or religion. It was a reminder that in this fast-paced world, we should not forget our roots and take time to connect with our spiritual side.
The event left a lasting impact on all those who attended it. The positive vibes, the sense of community, and most importantly, the blessings of Maa Durga were felt by everyone present. It was a beautiful evening filled with love, faith, and devotion towards the divine mother.
